I always enjoy foreign holidays such as Christmas and the Gay and Lesbian parade. But few stand alone for pure excuses for binge drinking like Cinco de Mayo and St. Patricks day.
For the few who still dont know, this day is celebrated based upon the fabulous ass whupping put on the French army by the Mexican army. Dates... I dont know or care lets just say this happened in 1870 just cause.
Any way, have you ever wondered if the French have any pride in their Millitary? I know it seems they are potrayed world wide in cartoons and film as aloof and limp wristed warriors and people. Do French people just accept that they are considered pansys? At least they are through the rose colored glasses known as American upbringing. I will consider this topic while I celebrate their defeat while sipping margaritas tonight.
